Horace F. Jones, Ed.D.
Dr. Horace F. Jones founded Advanced Resource Technologies, Inc. in 1986, out of a desire to establish his own professional services firm to provide government and commercial clients the best mix of existing technology, while creating employment opportunities for individuals within the local community.
Dr. Jones has successfully led the company garnishing several awards and accolades that include Black Enterprise Magazine’s Top 100 African American-Owned Companies in the U.S., Inc. Magazine’s List of America’s 500 Fastest Growing Private Companies, the Fast Track Enterprise Award (DoD Mentor-Protégé Program), and Technology Fast 500 Company.
As Founder & Chief Executive Officer, Dr. Jones provides corporate vision, leadership and strategic direction to the leadership team for all aspects of the company’s business.” As the CEO and Chairman of the Board, Dr. Jones oversees the leadership team’s daily operation of the company and is ultimately responsible for all components of its business. His guidance and continued involvement in day-to-day operations forms the foundation upon which the company’s excellent reputation for delivering quality, cost-effective, and responsive information solutions rests.
Dr. Jones received his Bachelor of Science degree in Education from Southern University in Louisiana in 1963. Afterwards, he served as an Artillery Staff Officer and Commander of soldiers in the U.S. Army while stationed in Vietnam. Dr. Jones returned to Southern University in 1973, where he received a Master’s degree in Counselor Education. He later earned a Doctoral degree in Education from the University of Denver in 1979.
In 1983, with the rank of Lieutenant Colonel, he retired from the Army to pursue a career in private industry where he held a wide variety of executive level positions for several high-tech corporations in the Washington, DC metro area.
